The Terrihut SAC is located in the Surselva, in the west of the Grisons region. The area which includes more than 30 side valleys and the Greina plateau is also known as the Vorderrheintal or Grisons Oberland.
The main access is by train from Chur or Disentis/Mustér through the breathtaking Vorderrhein gorge, a wonderful panoramic route, or by private car via Flims, Laax down to Ilanz. The Surselva is easily accessible from all directions via the Lukmanierpass (open all year round) or the Oberalppass (only open in summer).
However, some passages are reserved for hikers only. Discover the many hiking trails of the Grisons Oberland around the Greina and plan a stop at the Terrihut!
FROM VRIN OR PUZZATSCH OVER THE DIESRUT PASS
Take the train to Ilanz and then the post bus to Vrin (1448 m above sea level). Vrin is either the starting point of your hike or you can take the BusAlpin to Puzzatsch (1667 m above sea level) or Parvalsauns (1631 m above sea level). The hike from Vrin along the road to Puzzatsch, where you can view the arcitecture of Gion A. Caminada on several buildings, takes about 45 minutes.
Once you arrive in Parvalsauns, where there are also parking facilities, the marked mountain trail first leads uphill via Alp Diesrut to the Diesrut pass (2,428 m above sea level) and then down to the Greina plateau (Romanesque: Plaun la Greina). Here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Greina plateau for the first time.
In the Greina, the trail leads over a 65-meter-long suspension bridge, the Punt la Greina (P.2193), through the northern flank of the Muot la Greina directly to the Terrihut.

FROM RABIUS-SURREIN THROUGH THE VAL SUMVITG
Take the train (Rhaetian Railway) to Rabius-Surrein (927 m above sea level). From there, the ascent to the hut can be shortened considerably with the BusAlpin. The BusAlpin or a private car will take you to Teningerbad (1305 m above sea level) or the Runcahez at the reservoir lake (1277 m above sea level) at the end of Val Sumvitg. There you can also find parking facilities. Following the wild Rein da Sumvitg you reach the Terrihut after hiking on a partly steep, well-marked path on the ridge of the Crest la Greina.
Exposed sections of this entertaining and varied trail are equipped with chains and iron pins.

FROM CAMPO BLENIO VIA THE MOTTERASCIOHÜTTE CAS
Arriving by train in Biasca, take the PostBus to Olivone and on to Campo Blenio. There the BusAlpin leaves for the Luzzone reservoir (1609m above sea level). With a private car you can drive up to Alpe di Garzotto (1627 m above sea level) along the lakeshore, where there are a few parking spaces.
From there a marked hiking trail leads first to the Motterasciohut (2172 m above sea level), which is located near the alp of the same name, and then on to Crap la Crusch (2268 m above sea level). Following the Rein da Sumvitg on the right bank, you cross the Greina plateau until you reach the Terrihut via the suspension bridge or along the west side of the Muot la Greina through a hidden high valley.

FROM CAMPO BLENIO VIA THE SCALETTAHÜTTE SAT
Arriving by train in Biasca, take the post bus to Olivone and on to Campo Blenio/ Ghirone. From there, the BusAlpin takes you to Pian Geirett (1977m above sea level) through the Val Camadra. From Pian Geirett you can reach the Scalettahut SAT (2205 m above sea level) in about an hour.
The direct, red and white marked hiking trail leads over the Passo della Greina (2355 m above sea level) eastwards through the Greina plateau to the Terrihut. At the foot of Pizzo Corroi, it is worth taking a short diversions route to the large natural stone arch “Arco della Greina” which is located on the south side of the Greina plateau.
